Vietnam–Japan oyster program expands: ~200 tonnes in 2026
As of October 2026, about 200 tonnes had been shipped to Japan this year. Takayoshi coordinates the current Vietnamese manufacturing partnership, with Mr. Kan advising. About 260 tonnes is the year-end target — a projection, not a shipped figure.

Vietnamese oysters, built for the Japanese market
Since 2020, OMNEX's founder Mr. Nobuyoshi Kan has built a Vietnam-to-Japan oyster supply chain from the ground up — from nationwide farm research to the project's first trial shipment in 2022 and commercial supply from 2023. Coordinated by OMNEX since 2025: about 200 tonnes shipped to Japan in 2026 as of October, targeting about 260 tonnes by year-end.
An ultra-thin sweet potato slice, engineered for Japan
For a special-spec ultra-thin IQF sweet potato slice, Mr. Nobuyoshi Kan helped build the manufacturing and agricultural foundations with Vietnamese and Japanese partners — a committed processor, factory planning, and soil and cultivation work. To our knowledge, the first project to help a Vietnamese manufacturer develop this product for export to Japan; production began in 2024, and ~350 MT has been supplied.
A pioneer who built a seafood factory in Vietnam — back in 1995
OMNEX's founder, Mr. Nobuyoshi Kan, established Sakura Food Co., Ltd. in Nha Trang on 21 September 1995 — a 100% Japanese-invested seafood-processing and export venture that grew to 700 employees. As one of the first Japanese entrepreneurs to build a seafood factory in Vietnam, he set a template that still drives OMNEX's oyster and sweet-potato work three decades later.
Vietnamese rice paper for a major Japanese deli maker — in 2003
In 2003, Sakura Food under Mr. Kan coordinated the supply of Vietnamese rice paper to Rock Field Co., Ltd.: sourcing, partner-factory quality inspection and shipment to Japanese specifications. Original purchase orders and shipping records document six shipments (4,200 kg) between April and June 2003.
